Tasks Before Greg Leaves America

- Get some alignment on where you want to live and what you want out of your housing
- Help Reva de-clutter & pack as much as possible

- At Airport

- Japan Post Bank has a tool for filling out the forms for a new account in English. Print in Japanese to take to the office with you

Open Questions:
- Can one of the relocation folks help me find immediate housing?
- Will the total cost be cheaper than looking on my own? (~100-200k円 😬)
- Will I be able to work from the office for the first few weeks?
- Will I be allowed to work from public co-working spaces? (Yahoo Lodge, AWS Forge)

- Most flexible option

- Probably the least comfortable option
- Risks:

Sharehouse
- A private room with shared kitchen and bath facilities. For some reason the sharehouses in eastern Tokyo are cheaper

- Anecdotal reports that sharehouse-mates can be awful

Verdict: Mobal I’ll order a Mobal SIM card and have it shipped to Denver, that way I can swap my SIM during the flight and hit the ground running I’ll likely switch to a different provide after I’ve gotten a bit settled

Verdict: Google Voice Not enough time (or motivation) to roll a solution on Twilio, and none of the other options come close in value for money, I don’t like being glued to Google but meh 🤷
